In honor of National Sewing Month, we're celebrating by sharing our team's favorite tools and machines that have made sewing not only accessible but also incredibly enjoyable. Who are you and what do you do at Singer? 

• My name is Victoria, and I am the communications specialist for SVP Worldwide. I manage our brand ambassador program, partnerships, and donations requests. I love being able to work with talented sewist all over the United States and Canda, as well as giving back to our sewing and creative community. I love it when I catch our products on popular TV shows or come across a sewist on social media using our brands.

What type of sewist are you (how long have you been sewing)? 

• I am a upcycle sewist, and I have been sewing since I was seven years old. I learned how to sew at a local sewing school for kids; my former teacher, Ms. Faucet taught her classes on antique SINGER sewing machines. That is probably where my love for vintage started from.

What projects are you working on right now? 

• I am currently working on turning blankets from the thrift store into a tote bag, and a pair of pajamas pants, as well as a t-shirt quilt for my aunt as a retirement present. 

What Singer machine is great for your style of sewing/crafting? 

• SINGER’s Heavy Duty sewing machines fits the bill for these projects because I am working with thicker materials. 

What feature of this machine makes your sewing easier? 

• Using my walker foot on this machine, helps me get a better grip on my fabric for easier control, it is also great for using multiple layers of fabric.

• My word of wisdoms to sewists is to take your time. Slow fashion is worth it when someone says, “I like your…” and you get to say back, “Thanks, I made it”!
